Teeth Whitening in Manchester & Sale
Here at Manor Dental Care, we understand the importance of being able to smile with confidence, and our customers seem to as well, as our Zoom! power whitening is one of our most popular procedures. Zoom! teeth whitening has quickly gained popularity due to it featuring on a number of high profile makeover shows such as “Extreme Make Over”. It is the worlds number one light activated whitening system due to it being quick, safe, pain free and with fantastic results.
The Zoom! whitening procedure works by applying a gel which is designed to be used in conjunction with the Zoom! lamp. The treatment will take place at the surgery in 90 minutes, after which you will see immediate results.
Procedure
- As with all whitening procedures, your dentist will cover your gum and lips to prevent them coming in contact with the gel.
- Your dentist will then apply the Zoom! whitening gel before activating the Zoom! lamp. The lamp heats up the gel, immediately increasing the speed of the whitening process.
- Your dentist will apply the gel in sessions of around 15 minutes, most patients usually undergo three sessions.
- Once the gel has been removed, you will see an instant improvement in the colour of your teeth, with some of our Zoom! patients gaining 10 shades lighter teeth.
Zoom Teeth Whitening Eligibility
When you first meet with your dentist to discuss whitening, they will assess whether or not you are suitable for the Zoom! whitening process. Whilst Zoom! can safely be used on the vast majority of patients, there are a number of conditions or other factors which may make you unsuitable for the treatment. For instance, it is usually recommended that pregnant or breastfeeding women don’t undergo the Zoom! whitening procedure. There are several kinds of light sensitive medications which you may need to stop taking or switch to alternate medications before you undergo Zoom! whitening so it is important to check with your GP first.
Zoom! is also suitable for patients who wear dental restorations like dentures, crowns or veneers. Zoom! only affects natural teeth therefore you may need to alter the colour of your restoration so that it blends together perfectly with your newly whitened teeth.
In some cases of heavily stained teeth, some patients may require further treatments such as custom trays and bleach to take home to continue the whitening process. Some patients who have had whitening treatments previously may find their teeth returning to their previous colour, in such cases it is not unusual to have ‘top up’ sessions with a take home whitening kit. As well as this, keeping a high level of oral hygiene with regular brushing and flossing will undoubtedly help you gain results from your Zoom! whitening treatment.
